Stephen Morgan MP: Youth Brexit Event

Posted on behalf of Stephen Morgan MP

As the MP for Portsmouth, I want to hear from all of my constituents no matter their age, background or beliefs.

Brexit is, after climate change, the most significant issue of our times and will have a dramatic long-term effect on the lives of all the people of Portsmouth but especially the youngest.

With this in mind, I'm inviting young constituents to meet me at the Wave Maiden on Osborne Road this Sunday afternoon to discuss their views and concerns around the issue at this most crucial stage.

Tell a neighbour, bring a friend, see you there!

Building Strength in a Challenging World

Posted on behalf of The Good Mental Health Cooperative

In the fast paced world that we live in, it can be hard to take time for ourselves. Hard to find the time to listen to our emotions and how our body feels. We rush from one thing to the next and wonder where our day has gone. How can we find the resilience we need to keep going in this constant push from the responsibilities around us, unless, we take a moment to listen to our bodies.

This is an opportunity for you to take some space, learn to connect with yourself again and find resilience and peace in a place that lives inside you. Come and join me and explore new ways to work through difficult emotions in a fast paced life, learn techniques to allow yourself to feel happier and more confident within yourself and have fun too!

Sarah Haskett is a cognitive behavioural therapist, mental health nurse and has a background in performance art. She enjoys linking these concepts together to infuse a somatic and systemic approach to personal well-being in delivering community workshops that enhance personal resilience, that are fun and enjoyable to a wide variety of group participants.

You can book on all three workshops, or for individual sessions if you're not available for them all. Sessions will be independent of each other, but will also flow together for the person who wants to gain the most in attending more than one session.

By registering your name and email address for any workshop, you agree to be added to the Good Mental Health Coop mailing list. Personal contact information is gathered for the sole purpose of communications via our email newsletter site hosted by Mailchimp. You can easily unsubscribe at any time. Details remain confidential and will never be passed on to any third party except as required by UK law.

About the Mental Wealth Academy

The Mental Wealth Academy supports people to access community based activities and workshops which help with inclusion, recovery and good mental health. The support is intended for people who have experienced serious life challenges, are socially isolated, anxious or lacking in confidence. This may include experience of mental ill-health, addictions, disability, bereavement, caring responsibilities for example.

At the Good Mental Health Cooperative, we believe that connecting with others, and informal learning opportunities, are really important steps to good mental health, bringing a sense of inclusion and challenge, rather than feeling isolated and lacking in purpose.

This is an introductory programme, with funding provided by the Big Lottery for the free workshops and courses.
